"Digging For Windows" - Zack de la Rocha

While the Prophets of Rage have been touring around the U.S. and bringing the music of Rage Against the Machine to life, it hasn’t been the same without Zack del la Rocha’s anger-driven, rebellious energy. Prophets of Rage is made up of all the original members of Rage Against the Machine (minus Zack), Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill. However, with Zack absent from the reunion with the group, he has taken it upon himself to release music. His latest single “digging for windows” brings back his fury and rage that has been missed dearly in the music industry for a long time.

“Fuck that bright shit, The spot or the flashlights We in L.A. ducking both, In the shadows with lead pipes.”

Zack’s style and lyrical delivery hasn’t changed one bit. It’s political, relevant, and aggressive. While maintaining all of these characteristics, his delivery touches some of the foundations of slam poetry. Zack continues and paints the image of his days as a person being “all night,” as he’s desperately searching for a window to gain some light and positivity into his life. As the song comes to a close, the beat continues on and slowly fades away- suggesting that this darkness will never truly end.
