Kids See Ghosts Sometimes

Kanye West and Kid Cudi have never made a bad song together. Yes, that includes “Erase Me.” Cudi has become such an integral part in Kanye’s music that it’s difficult to imagine certain songs existing without him. In an age of collaboration projects, a Kanye-Cudi collab album seemed inevitable. However, the two had a public feud that included a Cudi calling out Kanye on Twitter, and Yeezy responding with a rant of his own. Thankfully, the two have since reconciled and we’ve been gifted with more great music from the pair following the brief public disagreement.

With all of Kanye’s recent controversy, KIDS SEE GHOSTS feels like it came at the perfect time. Cudi has always been open about his struggles with mental health. Kanye recently opened up about his bipolar disorder and opioid addiction, and themes of his mental health were prevalent on Ye. KIDS SEE GHOSTS feels even more like a musical therapy session. In some ways it was everything I expected, and yet nothing l would’ve imagined. Kanye and Cudi continue to challenge each other to be better and build on each other’s strengths. After collaborating for an entire decade, it’s amazing they can still manage to surprise you.
