I'm Up

Against fans' expectations, Young Thug drops I’m Up instead of Slime Season 3. Thugger waited two days before the release to announce the name change via Twitter.

Honestly, there were only four out of the nine songs that were good. Most of the songs have features from unknown artists who have terrible lyrical content. Who are Ralo, Solo Lucci, Young Butta, Dora and Dolly, and what are they rapping about? We are familiar with the two members of the Migos trio, Offset and Quavo, and Chicago rapper Lil Durk, but we were expecting Slime Season 3 to have bangers with some big name features. Yes, we want to hype the underhype, but I’m Up doesn’t compete with his previous two mixtapes.

In my opinion, the Lil Boosie tribute “F Cancer” was the best song off the album; it was exactly what we wanted and expected following Slime Season 1 and 2. Also, his radio hit “Hercules” was another banger that I expect to hear at all the parties here at Grambling.

I don’t think Young Thug should’ve released this. I am still waiting on Slime Season 3 to drop anytime in the month of February. Again, this album receives a four out of nine. There are only four decent songs (at most!) out of nine. But don't just take my word for it, give it a listen below:
